Pierogi Fest in Whiting

[ 4 ] July 14, 2009 | The Hungarian Girl

The 2009 Pierogi Fest will be happening from July 24 – 26th in Whiting, Indiana.

The three day event includes a parade, music and dance performances, arts and crafts, contests, and of course lot’s of pierogi eating!

Pierogi Fest has been featured in several television and radio spotlights such as The Food Network’s “All American Festivals” and Oprah Winfrey’s Top Seven Summer Food Festivals.

    OMG, you have no idea the glorious pig-out food in that little tiny town.
    I’ve gone to the Piroghi (that’s the way my grandma spelled it,) festival for the past 5 years and I wouldn’t miss it.
    Ill gain about 5 pounds a day and its worth it.
    Yum!
    By the way, don’t let “Indiana” put you off, its not out there in the sticks — nothing wrong with the sticks, I just mean it’s REAL close to Chicago.
    It’s IN Chicago fro all intentst and purposes, right at the end of the skyway bridge, like 15 minutes from the loop.
