My Travel Photos – Debreceni Sausage With Langos
Debreceni sausage with langos and a side of spicy mustard.
While my fiancé and I were visiting the Naschmarket in Vienna, we stumbled a upon a food stand offering unique samplings of Hungarian food.
Owner Otto Kovacs explained to us how his inspiration for the food came from his parents – his father being Austrian and his mother Hungarian. He wanted to find a way to combine the two cultures by offering Hungarian food in Austria.
One of his specialties includes debreceni sausage with langos (flavored pork sausage wrapped in fried sweet bread). It was absolutely delicious!
Paprika peppers stuffed with sauerkraut.
We also had a chance to try a side of paprika peppers stuffed with sauerkraut, which was a great accompaniment to our meal.
All food is prepared from original family recipes. The food stand has only been in operation for less than a few weeks but Otto intends to call his eatery “Hungry for Hungarian.”
You can find Otto’s food stand at the North side of the Naschmarket. Just look out for the large Hungarian flag.
Good luck Otto!
