My travel photos: the original sacher torte

The Original Sacher Torte with unsweetened whipped cream.

Café Sacher is a classical coffeehouse in Vienna. It is world famous for its chocolate cake, the Original Sacher Torte.

The cake consists of dense not overly sweet chocolate (traditionally a sponge cake) with a thin layer of apricot jam in the middle and dark chocolate icing on the top and sides. It is often served with unsweetened whipped cream.

I’ve always wanted to visit this prestigious cafe; however, I was a bit disappointment with their aloof service. Nonetheless, having the Original Sacher Torte was worth the visit. The cake was spectacular and one of a kind.

You can also purchase the Original Sacher-Torte and Sacher products at their Confiserie.
