Christkindlmarket Chicago – A German American Holiday Festival

Christkindlmarket Chicago is the largest and most renowned open-air Christmas event in the United States. It attracts over 1 million visitors each year.
The 14th annual Christkindlmarket Chicago will be happening from November 25th – December 24th.
The festive market features a unique shopping area with over 50 vendors, live music and entertainment, traditional German foods and drinks, decorated displays including Santa’s House, and lot’s more.

Special events include an appearance by the real Christkindl from Nürnberg, Germany: the annual Children’s Lantern Parade; and the 5th annual Consumer Travel Show.
Inspired by the Christkindlsmarkt in Nürnberg, Germany, the market was first held on Pioneer Court in 1996.
Today, Christkindlmarket Chicago is the largest open-air Christmas event in the United States attracting visitors from the Chicago area, across the country, and from around the world.
The market is located on Daley Plaza between Washington, Clark & Dearborn Street. Admission is free.
Open daily from 11am to 8pm Sunday through Thursday, and from 11am to 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. On Thursday November 26, and Thursday December 24, the market’s hours will be from 11am to 4pm.
