World’s Biggest Photo: Billion Pixels Budapest

[ 0 ] July 30, 2010 |

A group of photographers in Hungary are getting worldwide recognition. They have claimed to have created the world’s biggest photo, that is 70 billion gigapixels in size!

Developed by 360world, the photo was shot using a Sony’s A900 25MP camera and was taken at the observation tower of János-hegy, the highest vantage point in Budapest with a 360 degree panorama.

The group also gigapixeled photographs of two famous Hungarian paintings by artists, Csontváry Kosztka Tivadar and Rippl-Rónai József; courtesy of the Hungarian National Gallery.

So, if you want to see a really cool photo or should I say really BIG photo of Budapest, check out their website. It includes shots of the Hungarian Parliament Building, St Stephen’s Basilica, Puskas Stadium, and Ferihegy Airport to name a few. There’s also a nice video that explains how the photo was taken.
