The Rocking Horse Project
If you’ve been in Budapest lately, you may have noticed a giant wooden rocking horse.
It’s a public art installation appropriately called “The Rocking Horse“, which can accommodate up to 70 participants.
The structure has been displayed at several different locations in the city.
András Huszár and Gábor Miklós Szoke are the designers behind the project.
Check out this video below to see the structure in action. Rock away!

hi suzanne, i totally enjoy receiving your emails as i am a budapest aficionado! we will be visiting budapest in september and i am trying to determine the present location of the rocking horse without success. can you help?
Hi Linda. Glad that you’re enjoying the site!
“The Rocking Horse Project” is really neat, isn’t it? But I believe it’s only going to be displayed until the end of June in Budapest. It’s currently located in Millenáris Park for the European Football Championship. They do have a Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/HungarianRockingHorse) if you’d like to follow them and see where they may be in September. I also know that September is usually a good time for art shows, I’m sure there will be many others that you can see while you’re there. Hope you have a fantastic trip and if you have anymore questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. Best wishes!
