The Hungarian Girl focuses on Central and Eastern European travel, food, wine and culture. Through our informative and engaging content we are revolutionizing how people can experience the very best of the region.

Mission

Our mission is to empower, connect, and inspire people to engage with Central and Eastern Europe.

In our efforts to reach our mission, we will:

Enrich the lives of visitors by introducing or expanding their knowledge of Central and Eastern European topics through informative and entertaining web media.

Foster an online community in which we allow those with Central and Eastern European roots to rediscover their heritage and for others to learn and experience what the region has to offer.

About me

Hello, my name is Suzanne Urpecz and I’m the creator of The Hungarian Girl site (or for that matter – the actual Hungarian Girl herself!).

I’m a journalist with a culinary background who loves to travel, eat and enjoy fine wines.

I originally started The Hungarian Girl website as a method for me to personally connect with my heritage but as the site grew, I recognized that it served as a community resource for those with similar cultural backgrounds as well as for those who are seeking information on the region.

I do use the term “Central and Eastern Europe” to describe this website. Although, I want to make it very clear that each country within these regions has its own history, people, language, culture, and traditions.

It is my mission to inspire and promote a better understanding among the different nations within Central and Eastern Europe as well as encouraging both cultural diversity and unity in the world.

For those who are just discovering the region I hope this website gives you further insight into Central and Eastern Europe. As for those whose ancestral tides are within the region, I hope you can connect with your heritage and cultural roots here.

Sincerely,

The Hungarian Girl
